Pro Surf - Female

Angie began wake surfing in 2010 and she has been competing at the professional level since 2012. She can be seen shredding behind her boat on the waters of Lake Pleasant in Arizona almost every day.  Angie is also a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines so you will find her flying high when she is not on the water. She has been a flight attendant for over 20 years. Her flight benefits give her the ability to travel all over the world in order to compete in wake surfing competitions.

Wake surfing has become an increasingly popular water sport and Angie has been at the forefront of the opportunities for women in the sport. Many female wake surfers choose to ride Angie's pro model board. Her board is fittingly named the "AV Inspire", for she has been an inspiration to many of the young girls in this sport.  Angie's accolades over the years have been many. She has been on the podium multiple times and most recently earned a runner up finish at the 2016 US Nationals. At the tender age of 45, Angie has been in the top 5 on the world rankings for two years running.

Angie's coach and biggest cheerleader is her husband Mike Viland.  Mike is a pilot for Southwest Airlines and the two met in 1998 while flying the friendly skies. Mike and Angie run a wake surf school in Arizona called WakeSurf AZ. Together they strive to share their passion for the sport of wake surfing by giving personal instruction to all levels of ability.  The couple is stoked to be a part of the sport of wake surfing and excited about its future.
